The Zytek 04S is a Le Mans Prototype (LMP) race car that competed in endurance series like the Le Mans Endurance Series (LMES) in 2004 and 2005. It is the final version of a design that originated with the Reynard 02S and DBA4 03S prototypes. Despite being developed under older regulations, the Zytek 04S was a formidable competitor and posed a challenge to the dominant Audi R8s.
The 04S chassis was initially designed as the Reynard 02S in 2002. After Reynard went bankrupt, International Racing Management (IRM) and Zytek Engineering completed and later built the car, renaming it the Zytek 04S.
A Zytek factory team car, and a version for Jota Sport, both demonstrated impressive pace, especially in the 2004 and 2005 seasons. The works car earned victories in the Spa 1000km and Nürburgring 1000km races in 2005.
